The outside TEMP reading stuck on 53 degrees.
Anybody know what might be causing this, all of the heating/AC stuff seems to be working. Every once in awhile the low REFER indactor will flash but nothing else seems to be out of the ordinary. Thanks.

Here in New England we'd love to see 53 degrees...

Re: The outside TEMP reading stuck on 53 degrees.
My external thermocouple was dead when I got my car- I just bought a replacement...it is in the radiator air duct passenger side. Unfortunately it isn't shared with other cars so it isn't real cheap to replace. There are similar ones in other models (same out shell and plug) but the internal resistance is different.
There is a test listed in the FSM. |

Re: The outside TEMP reading stuck on 53 degrees.
I bought a used one online (ebay probably) from one of the vette dismantlers in Florida. I do not know the p/n, but it would be good if to know if it cross-referenced to a more common product line so it could be found in a junkyard etc. A bunch of the ones on 90's cadillacs look exactly the same, but the internal resistance is completely different.
