Wish they wouldn’t use the “King” reference

My stock 1990 may only have half the horsepower, but my LT5 looks a lot better, so that's something.

Meh.....What sucks is GM using the LT5 moniker on this, when it has nothing to do with a DOHC engine. From what I've seen on other C7s, overheating is a major problem. And this new "ZR1" has enlarged radiators AND intercoolers, hopefully this motor wont heat soak. But honestly, to CALL this a LT5 is a freaking joke!!! Does anyone one here honestly think this new "ZR1" would run for 24 STRAIGHT hours, at top speed? With nothing breaking or overheating?? Easy answer, it wouldn't.....

I don't understand why everyone is more upset about the reuse of LT5 than the reuse of the ZR1 again..

I would think it would strike more conversations at a car show..

"What motor is that?"

"LT5"

"Oh you have the new supercharged motor in this car?"

"NO, <Insert explanation here>"

Wow, These are the reasons our cars are worth crap. Our niche is so small you cant find it with a microscope. We as a group need to understand what LT5 and ZR1 signify.

LT5; is just an engine code, it has nothing to do with our car specifically. If you want to get technical the first GM Quad overhead cam engine was built in the 60's for Oldsmobile. Take a look at the photo and tell me that doesn't look like the prototype ZR-1 engine.

ZR1; Stands for Zora Racing 1, C3, C4, C6 and C7 model Corvette have had a King, It is and always will be known as the baddest Corvette for that generation.

So, With all that being said, Our cars are still Corvettes "Just More So".

Our cars wont be worth anything until "WE"show they have heritage and Racing lineage.

Just my opinion.

Personally, I think it’s ugly especially with that wing. I’ll bet it will knock your socks off in terms of performance!

Funny how tastes change over the years. With our ZR-1s you could barely tell the difference between it and a standard car. Now it’s in your face.

I wonder how we can show racing lineage, when our cars were never raced in any sort of series....as far as heritage goes, I believe our cars have that in spades. As with any generation ZR1, they are always limited production. Yes there is a King Corvette in every generation. but in no way when you pop hood, no ZR1 is as special and unique as ours. Maybe the 70- 72 ZR-1, but anymore all you get is a huge plastic cover over everything......
