Default Insurance question

Came home from carlise to find someone backs into my mustang and drove away. No body damage but te bumper is scuffed down to the urathane. Now my question is....other then the manner of torture to the person who did it...will my rates go up if I turn it into my insurance company?

Check your real bumper under it's damaged cover.(most people don't!)
You may have more damage than you think.
Good luck!

Seems like the game Kevin, put in a claim and your rates go up enought to cover it after a couple years. Then they cancel you because you're a bad risk.

Not only will it go up, like Frank said there will be a report and it will be sent to all the car fax agency's. And if you just make a police report only they will also somehow make it available to these agency's too. It happened to me with my pick up truck. My wheel fell off(long story) on my wife in the Lowes parking lot. Made a police report just in case I might need it later on. Truck was new but Chevy wouldn't cover it (long story). So just so my insurance wouldn't go up I fixed it myself. Fast forward 8 years to the present I went to get a trade in price on a new vehicle and lo and behold a "hit" on car fax came up. It was the police report which stated I collided with something. I never got that report to even know the police stated the wrong incident. So if the police are involved GET the report and check it for accuracy!

Also it was nice to meet you and your dad, I had a great time...jimmyb

it was great meeting you too Jimmy, we both had a great time. I'm not worried about car fax on this car, it's a 99 gt that I got as a highschool graduation gift. I'm not selling it. I'm not even mad the car got hit, I'm just pissed off that i have to pay to fix someones mistake
