Someone has a secret.
You guys have been asleep at the wheel. Sometimes you need to ask questions when a car has been posted for sale as the seller does not always know what he has.

Re: Someone has a secret.
Are you referring to the blue prototype that user Joel Stieglitz just took possession of? Saw it when it was first posted for sale, seems like a worthy project. Needed a buyer with more room and time than I have.

Re: Someone has a secret.
Now that the car is home I can start to tell the story. First is a major Thank You to Tyler for going to the frozen tundra to rescue the car. I originally owned 89 ZR-1 VIN 00080 that was crushed in England. That car was sold and restored in the Mid America Collection. In 2017 I was fortunate to purchase an early 1990 ZR-1 that went through NCRS. Now in early 2020 the opportunity to purchase an 88 KOH came to my attention that was advertised as an 89 ZR-1 Mule. Well this is 88 VIN 00038 or EX5006 and the earliest of the 88's to be found. So I can now claim to have owned the ZR-1 Trifecta. This car does need a driveline but compared to my 89 it looks so much better. More to come as I get the chance to clean it, take photos and try to piece together it's history. If anyone can offer information or help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Joel, we will follow along with great interest. It’s very exciting to see another pre-prod car turn up. I’m sure it’s in great hands. Congratulations.

Re: Someone has a secret.
Well started to clean out the mess on the interior today. The entire rear plastic (Plexiglas) cover to hide the square tail lights is in two pieces so have a great template to recreate this. Unfortunately the rear tires do not hold air so they are shot. They have Not For Sale stamped into them. Car was repainted at least once. Making headway.

Re: Someone has a secret.
Congrats. The only 1988 KoH Dark Blue.
Car VIN 53, EX5017, was supposed to be Dark Blue, but a hand-written note changed it to Bright Red. |
