Default Car stuff in downtown Florence

Of all places I'm visiting this trip I would not have expected to see this in downtown Florence with it's very narrow streets. Wonder how they got it in there? Most likely in pieces.

Saw no cars of interest in Rome and no cars at all here in Venice

Scott,

No cars in Venice is what I think is one of the magical things about that city IMO.

If you haven't seen the Uffizi art collection in their gallery, I would definitely stop and check it out. A small portion of the collection was on tour here in the U.S., last year I think, that I went saw. Absolutely amazing collection.

Yup, Uffizi was top of the list. Saw it last week. We're in Venice now where the "Birth of Venus" is on loan from the Uffizi
This is the sculpture looking back out of Uffizi Piazza

Earlier this week when we got here that was so very evident. It was so very quiet at night. No cars. IT was the topic for breakfast.
Then last night all was undone by the very late night partying the Venetians do this time of year. It is the Festa del Redentore. The celebrate the end of the plague of the 1400s.
Our 4th of July has noting on Venice when it comes to fireworks !! wow.
And drunken singing until 3am. There is something hysterical about drunk singing in Italian.
What party animals
We tried to join in but somehow didn't know the words.
