Default ZR-1/LT5 Nomad

I was just buzzing through a new recording of an old (2016-Vegas) Barrett/Jackson auction, looking for interesting Corvettes. Up pops a black "1955 Nomad" that was a gorgeous amalgam of Chevy parts, mostly C4 ZR-1.

A 55' Nomad body with 53' Corvette front end, and rear quarters, custom tube frame, polished LT5 engine, 6 speed manual, and C4 rear end components.
I was amazed at how well all these disparate pieces hung together as a whole vehicle.
To me, this car goes far beyond "resto-mod" status, and into "Chevy Lover's Wet Dream" territory. I just love customs that appear to be totally stock....yet never actually existed until some master craftsmen brought them to life.

The color- badass black, The engine - a 4Cam LT5 so beautiful that I'm sure most of the Barrett Jackson audience had no clue it was STOCK, even the interior was so low key and tasteful that it looked like it came from the factory, because most of it did. Much of the drivetrain came right out of the C4/ZR-1 parts bin, from the shift knob to the 93'/95' wheels.

Check it out:

BTW, it was a no sale at $110,000.00, I guess because it wasn't "re-sale red"

Ok Bob, While reading your post I was thinking to myself that this "FrankenVette" was just that.

After looking at the photos... Whoa! That is really super cool.

Wasn't this car in Hot Rod Magazine a long time ago? I think I remember seeing it before.
