DPG Update AKA Mesa Proving Grounds
It was a sad day ten years ago when I was at the Mesa Desert Proving Grounds to celebrate it's 50th birthday. I had been asked by GM to display our 53 Corvette. It was then I learned they were closing it down. Well they did and now their building houses there.
Our early ZR-1s spent a lot of time being perfected on that property. One thing they told me is they buried the retired test cars "out there" meaning somewhere out on the property. I can't wait until they start digging them up. http://www.azcentral.com/community/m...velopment.html Just think of the movie Poltergeist only it may be 1953 #1 that surfaces in the back yard swimming pool!
