Default Dreaded no start

Need some advice please. Come across the No Start issue, a couple of times recently. 1st time, I started the Z at home as per normal, drove it into town to a shop to get some electrical work done. Got a call 20min later to say they couldn?t start the car. I went back to the shop and the car started ?? 2nd time, Started and drove to a meeting point prior to going to a car show. Turned it off, and 5 min. later wouldn?t crank. All ignition lights but no crank or click from the solenoid. Push started and went to the show. Car parked at show for numerous hours and started up fine to come home. Tried once home re starting and no crank.
It appears that it will start every time when cold, but once it has some temperature, it fails to crank over
Clutch switch bypassed, Starter relay added .

Starter solenoid needs a rebuild. Time to replace contacts and plunger.

Just happened to me, the battery was low (and over 5 years old)
Had enough juice to start, but wouldn't even click the solenoid after a 15 minute ride.
Charged the battery, no problemo, started right up.
Bought a new battery and no more problem.

Thanks tccrabs, l will try a jump starter on it to eliminate a battery issue prior to attacking a starter solenoid rebuild. Process of elimination. It?s either the battery as you mentioned or the solenoid.

Didn?t want to pull the plenum, but will if I have to. How hard can it be 🤣🤣 I?m sure there is good info / instructions on here. Will have to get Jerry?s to ship out to Australia gaskets and what ever l may need to do it. BTW after reading your post on the solenoid rebuilt, l was wondering, the Denso 053660-7061 plunger kit . Does it come with the contact plates, or are they purchased separately?

Thanks, Russell

Had the exact same issue, put in a new battery and problem solved but to be sure will rebuild the starter as well during our next Wazoo maintenance day.

Thanks Charlie,
Hope it is just the battery. I know the previous owner had had the plenum off, so l will check with him if he did the starter.

UPDATE: Knowing that the clutch switch wasn?t the culprit ( bypassed ) and the wiring in of the auxiliary relay didn?t help, l decided to throw in a new battery, as l didn?t know the age of the one in the car.
BINGO. At this point I haven?t been able to get a no start on a warmed up / hot engine. Thanks ?dredgeguy? for the recommendation. I will purchase a starter solenoid plunger and contacts kit anyway for when and if l do pull the plenum at some point🫰

Cheers from down under 🇦🇺
