I emailed the seller.

Quote:
This Corvette you have listed for sale is described as a ZR1. It however is not a ZR-1. I just thought you might like to know.

ZR-1's were produced from 1990-1995. Obviously this car has had some modifications done to the body but the engine is clearly the L98 and not the LT5.

Good Luck with the sale.

Regards,

Jim Jones
I hope they change their listing to accurately reflect the car. I'm sure it's just an oversite by the seller.

I figured why not keep sending him emails ....so I sent this.

Please be aware that you are not selling a ZR-1. The only thing thats a ZR-1 on that car is the emblem. ZR-1s did not go into production until 1990 and have an LT5 engine. That is an C4 with an LT1 engine. Please change your ad or this will be reported to EBAY.

Pretty sure the rear end / wing is aftermarket . Mid America offers a low profile wing that fits their ZR-1 style replica bumper (91-96) .

At least that's what it looked like from the photo.

By adding the wing and after market ZR1 rear end does not make it KOTH. The ad is misleading. I hope any buyers check for information on the zr1's.

It's funny when I was looking to buy a ZR-1 the first thing I did as a new buyer was to get the VIN prefix straight in my head...as a non-owner & a know nothing about ZR-1 body differences...the only way I knew for sure was to look for the 1G1YZ in the vin so I knew I was looking at the right cars!

Now I can spot the door panels from 10 yards away, let alone that booty and the rear rubber!!! God these cars are great looking!!
