Default Virginia International Raceway charity laps Friday

VIR will have charity laps Friday, Nov. 30 for $15 for 20 minutes. Proceeds will go to the Salvation Army.

Temps will be in the low 60’s so Summer tires will work.

Believe me, I know. I raced there earlier this month, just after Petit Le Mans (and right before the temps took a dive).

I'm often thankful to have it and several other great tracks within driving distance - Barber, Charlotte, AMP, Roebling Road, Daytona, Sebring, CMP, ...

VIR is at (or near) the top of everyone's list. It is well worth the 6 hour drive for us. Those Climbing Esses (followed by the blind, high speed left turn) are quite the thrill.

I worked at Coca-Cola for a while, and this picture was my screen background back then.

Try to schedule April 19, 2019 for Victory Junction charity laps. The weather should be very mild by that late date.

I’ m still trying to figure out how the C7 ZR-1 set the lap record in January. Those Cup 2 tires don’t like cold weather. My old GS-D’s gave up on turn 4 twice when the temps were in the high 30’s!

Easy solution for you: Get tire warmers and have 4 crew guys hold them in place until the exact moment your Team Manager on pit road tells you it's the ideal time to go out for a flyer.

That seems to work for them furrin' guys on TV Saturday mornings. :-)
