Default Speaker question

I am going to install a new dd mp3, gps, blah, blah head unit into my 1990 zr1, along with a powered sub. My question is, what speaker size is best for direct replacement in the rear and kicks? I plan on rewiring everything, except the antenna, power, ground, and constant, and leaving all other wiring intact, so it can be re-installed at a later date.

What say the experts here for the speaker replacement? I really do not want to modify anything where it cannot be put back to stock easily.

TIA.

note: yes, I did search, but there was nothing really definative to me.

hey there,

Which DD are you installing?

If you are considering a Pioneer Avic Z110BT or Avic Z3, both take minimal modification to the bezel to install properly.

Goldcylon and QB93Z have one installed as well.

I will do that. I am in process of putting a new stroker motor into my supra, and a twin k3 turbo's jz engine into the 78 280z, so this most likely will be a project in a couple of weeks. I can certainly do a writeup on my process though if it is desired.

A write up is fine. The interesting thing (to me) will be the look and if it is possible to keep the stock look as close as possible and/or the prospects to return to stock.
