Default Rear actuator stuck inside frame

Hello All,

I am looking for advice. My Z had regular Bilstein in the rear when I bought it. I bought a pair of new rear fx3 shocks. The driver side was fine I was able to get the actuator out that was tucked inside the frame. Now the pasenger rear side is another story. I cannot get it out. It gets stuck. I can feel the actuator connecter which is about 2? from the Shock tower mount. I tried to fish a wire in there to loosen it up but it doesn?t work. I think my next step is to drill 1/2 hole on the side of the frame close to the area where I hear the actuator banging the frame wall and fish in that area to see if I can loosen it up.

Your thoughts

Thanks Joel

Got it loose. Using the inspection snake camera I was able to locate the actuator inside the frame. I notice not to far from it was a nut that had a screw going thru it. It was one of the screws the was used for attaching the inner fender well. I removed it and fish the coat hanger wire through it and was able reach the actuator, freed it up and pulled it out of the frame. Back on the road again now with a fully functioning select ride suspension.

Just saw this And to make this a little easier with the snake camera I would have suggested the spring grabber tool used to retrieve bolts etc. GC
