Default Transmission Question

Hello folks, I'm still fairly new at this, working on my own car thing, retired so I thought what the hell. I had the transmission rebuilt by the zfdoc. Yesterday while installing it, I noticed an electrical connector on my transmission harness and no place to plug it in. I plugged one into the backup switch and one into the speed sensor. The extra plug is positioned middle ways between these two connectors. Do you have any idea what this plugs into? This is on my 91 ZR-1.

Another question, I don't have a FSM for the 91 but I have one for my 95 Z, while looking through it, it's showing a "Computer Aided Gear Select Solenoid" is this something that came on later models, my 91 transmission doesn't have this solenoid on it. From the looks of where this solenoid is, on the 95, that extra plug looks like it could go to this, if it where on the 91.

I'm enjoying doing these repairs and I appreciate y'all bearing with me but I'm in the, butter knife, drawer when it comes to this.

your 91 has it, we all do. I've had mine taken out via the chip, it maybe on a different place on the black tags vs the blue tag trans.

As Kevin stated it should go to the CAGS (1-3 lock out) it should be on all ZF6's I also had mine programmed out by Marc. If you don't have one on the trans ask Bill if he left it out. Does it have a plug in the spot? You can just tape up the plug and tie-wrap it out of the way, You will not get any codes. Life is better without it.

When Bill did my transmission he removed the soleniod and installed a plug in its place. I'm glad he did, damn thing was nothing but a nuisance.

Bill had rebuilt this transmission years ago so I guess that's when it was removed. There is a plug there.

Thanks
