Default Dynamat 101

Okay I have had the Dynamat for over a year and decided to finally install it.

First things first you have to strip the interior out of the car.

Next you have to clean out all the debris. I used a Tornador with an Enzyme cleaner. I had a little buzz going for awhile.

Cover everything with Dynamat

Okay so I only got the back done. Tomorrow the Dynapad goes in the back and hopefully the antenna cable will come so I can put the back of the car back together.

Installed:
Back up Camera, XM radio antenna, HD radio Antenna, Dynapad in the cargo area.

Nice pics. Sound deadening is a great addition to the C4. I used a different product but I'm sure the Dynamat will serve you well.

Got the Dynapad done in the cargo area today. Will add more photos tomorrow.

Robert,
That is alot of work and you are doing a great job. You'll be rewarded with a quieter and cooler interior, for sure!

Bob, man you have been busy since BG. I applaud you in your effort. I had to wear ear plugs on my way home. Ears couldn't take it anymore, so I think I will follow you on your endeavors and do the same. Chao

I have the original B&B which are extremely loud 140db inside the car at 70 MPH.
The QTP exhaust cutouts lowered the interior noise to 106db, which was extremely bearable.
I am hoping the dynapad, dynapad reduce the exterior noise to 80db.
When Dave J and I drove Yun black 94 the interior noise was 90db.

Day 5, Damm is this one long drawn out process.

Got the Dynapad in and the dashboard out.

Cleaned the interior cabin with the Tornador than took a little undercoating to add protection and started to install more Dynamat.

There is one thing that I did forget to mention if you are going to try to do this on your car. The floor boards in C4 are very flimsy, you should support the underside of the floor pans.

I did install new Armoflex to protect and quit all the wiring in both of the rear cargo chase's. I used the same screwdriver so you could see how much more room is in the New Armoflex.

I got tired of the de-construction and installed the XM and HD antenna

Hi Robert--
I had Marc put Dynomat in my 93 HIL KING (now QB93Z) in the mid 90s and I thought it made the car seem quieter and more solid. We wired the car for sound and took decibel readings before and after but didn't see a big difference. Still, I think it was an improvement regardless of the readings. Good idea that I may do in my 95. It looks like you are doing a more complete coverage job than we did which also may explain the readings. Yours should show a big improvement I think. --Bob
