Default Well my son finally did it

Noticed he hasn't been driving the z for a few days, and asked him why. He didn't want to tell me something was wrong, he was afraid he screwed up lol.

Apparently there was some noise he couldn't pinpoint when I was out of town, but his uncle (a gm mechanic) told him it was no big deal. Well long story short, after he parked it it will not go into gear, and the pedal is mushy and only comes about halfway up. I am thinking fork or tob from reading the history.

Car will not shift into any gear when running.

Mine did something similar last year. Turned out a tab on the throwout bearing broke off which allowed the retaining ring to fly off and become rapped around the slave cylinder end of the clutch fork. Here is a lousy pic of the throwout from a camera phone:

Unfortunatly this is something I'm all to familiar with.
This was the first one.

This was the second one.

And this was the third and last one.

The cause was a bent clutch fork. Check your clutch fork.

So you wont have to see this. This has been a ZR-1 community public service announcment from yours truly.

I'm seeing the same thing but my guess is a wash out. We would have seen pics ealier if it were a copper but then again I'm only assuming that

A copper 90. ROLF! That picture was taken with a 1.3 megapixel cell phone that was dropped to many times. This is what the color really looks like taken with an 8.0 megapixel Droid X. Much better.

well I feel like a tool.

I finally got a minute to look at the vette, and low and behold the clutch master was empty.

Looks like the boy got lucky, and it is a much more simple fix than originally thought. Guess we'll replace both master, and slave just in case.
