Looking at a 91 ZR1
Hi there,
I'm looking to purchase a 91 ZR1 with 68,000 miles, I have owned 4 regular C4's. Is there anything special i should be looking for? This is a 1 owner car, with black interior and is dark Red Metallic. the seats are in great shape and the windshield is in good shape. thanks for your assistance. Brian |

Re: Looking at a 91 ZR1
I know those we not the original seats they are they vinyl type seat covers but here in AZ those would be ok. I comes with all documentation, has pizza box and the window sticker and build sheet and both tops. I have driven it already it doesn’t smoke upon startup or while driving it. I just don’t want to buy it then pour a ton of money into it.

Re: Looking at a 91 ZR1
There are several registry members in AZ that could help u assess the condition of the car.

Re: Looking at a 91 ZR1
Does the documentation show repairs, receipts etc? The LT5 is pretty dam bullet proof. Expect the normal C4 stuff that will nickle and dime you. Weather stripping, bose system etc sports seats operate correctly, etc.
I haven't met a C4 owner that hasn't had to put money into their Car at some point. Get a member to help you check out if you are worried. At the end of the day if it looks mechanically sound and you don't mind spending some money on the "normal c4" and 27 year old car stuff buy it. These cars are amazing! |

Re: Looking at a 91 ZR1
The engines are pretty robust, you have had C4s so you know about the car in general. As others have said if the Injectors are original they may have to be changed and probably should be.
Make sure the suspension changes when you activate the different modes. Do you plan on doing maintenance items yourself or take it somewhere for service? |

Re: Looking at a 91 ZR1
Dont be worried about 68K, my car has 84K and runs great, asking price?, dealer or private? Last 4 of VIN?
I could look at it on weekends, I would suggest to buy a car from a member on this forum that has been sorted out Last edited by PhillipsLT5; 11-16-2017 at 08:07 PM. |
