Here's the revised plan:
Wednesday May 11, 7 AM meet at exit #18 off of Interstate 70 (in MD) at the
McDonalds
12828 Clear Spring Road
Clear Spring, MD 21722-1707

From there google maps is showing 608 miles to Bowling Green.

We should be able to make BG in 9 - 10 hours depending on stops and speed.

If you are meeting us at this meet point post up here so I can make sure no one is left behind.

Please PM me your cell number in case I need to contact anyone who says their meeting but doesn't show. Plus it will be good to have for the trip. I will make a list and distribute at the meet point for all to have.

Here's the route I have planned from the meet point:

1. Head southwest on Houck Ave toward MD-68 W/Clear Spring Rd/Williamsport Clearspring Rd 259 ft
2. Turn left onto MD-68 E/Clear Spring Rd/Williamsport Clearspring Rd 325 ft
3. Merge onto I-70 W via the ramp to Hancock 16.7 mi
4. Take exit 1A on the left to merge onto I-68 W/US-40 W toward Cumberland Continue to follow I-68 W Entering West Virginia 112 mi
5. Keep left at the fork, follow signs for I-79 S/Fairmont and merge onto I-79 S 149 mi
6. Merge onto I-77 S 1.5 mi
7. Take exit 101 on the left for I-64 W/US-119 S toward Huntington 0.7 mi
8. Merge onto I-64 W Entering Kentucky 168 mi
9. Merge onto I-75 N 1.7 mi
10. Take exit 113 for US-27/US-68 toward Paris/Lexington 0.4 mi
11. Turn right onto US-27 S/US-68 W/N Broadway Rd 1.2 mi

I am open to suggestions if anyone has a better route to BG, PM me or post up.

• I am going to come to the meet point at Clear Spring area Tuesday night, planning on arriving about 9PM and stay at the Sleep Inn.
• If anyone wants to share a room there Tuesday night please let me know.
• If anyone is going to be there Tuesday night also let me know.

I will be bringing my FRS (GMRS) radio, so if you have one bring it!
(You may want to pick one up, they're inexpensive. If you do make sure to get the better range [GMRS] and one that has the sub channels).

Thanks for coordinating the Caravan to BG.

The meet point works for me.

Last year, we met the Northeast Caravan just south of Morgantown WV, on I-79 on Wednesday morning. I haven't heard from anyone in the NE yet about this year's plans.

I am not sure about the others from the Northeast. I spoke with Doug and he told me he couldn't make it this year. Not sure what Tom and Lou are doing???

As for me, I am on the fence, guess I will have to make a decision one way or the other real soon. I'll let you know.

I'll post up in the Northeast section and see what interest is for the trip.

Hi John,

This could work for me. I will have a firm answer after this coming Tuesday, 4/26/11. I am taking a class at night for work and I have to pin down what I will miss from the class on Tuesday, 5/10. I did schedule my room for a Wednesday check in at the Uplaza.

Thinking about a little change here.
6 miles farther west on 70 (exit 18) is a Sleep Inn.
Thinking about staying there Tuesday night and making that the meet point.
There's a McDs right there too for a little AM grub.
