Default AC Expert question

Here's my latest question:
The 94-95 134a AC compressor mating flange has a "step" on it.
The compressor hose assembly mating surface is flat.
There are no o-ring grooves in either surface.
What combination of o-rings are used, or is there a different sealing mechanism as opposed to the older R12 system?
Thanks, Paul

Here's a pic of the compressor and it's mating hose assembly.
The surface of the compressor flange is machined lower at the discharge side. That's the port on the right in the picture.
The hose assembly is flat across it's face.

Maybe a thinner o-ring would work?
I would think the groove is missing on one of them. Maybe email Haibeck with the pictures to ask the same question

I talked to Mark today, and he was just as puzzled as I am. He hasn't worked a 94-95 in some time and could not recollect what the compressor hose flange should look like. He was pretty sure this hose was built with the wrong 90-93 compressor flange and 94-95 hoses.

If there is anyone out there that could get a picture of the 94-95 mating surface of the compressor hose assembly, like the right picture above, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

The few images I see are of the hose assembly and there is an o-ring and it looks like it is not in a groove. My guess is the compressor has the groove.

Hello Paul, these pics are from my 94....there are metal "O" rings that go over each port on the hose assembly....in one pic you will see the "O" ring on the port and in the other pic the "O" ring is stuck to the original compressor..... they both go over the openings on the hose assembly....that way they are lined up correctly during installation....
The other pics are of the "O" ring kit I purchased to replace them and others if and as needed.....have fun....and there are no grooves.....each side has a flush finish....the "O" rings just sit between the two mating surfaces.....still have to finish mine....[emoji16]20190722_213548.jpg20190722_223614.jpg20190722_223628.jpg20190722_223640.jpg

Perfect pics! Thanks Tom.

Looks like I got another incorrectly built hose assembly.

Going to have to keep looking......

Glad to help out Paul......if you purchased the hose assembly from the PartsPlace....it is the correct hose set.....with the accumulator hose on the leftside of the manifold and with the correct bend to go around the coolant pipe...again...I sent mine back because of the non-effort packing of the part in the box.....most of the vendors for whatever reason are sending out the LT1 hose assembly which has the accumulator hose on the right side of the assembly and the configuration of the metal pipes is also obviously wrong....but you already know that.....should get back to work on mine since the weather has been cooling down....

The parts place hose was incorrectly assembled. Although the hose positions were correct, and the hose ends had the correct metric threads, the compressor end was for an R12 compressor, 90-93.

Ordered another from e-Bay, priceline4, Brad's Corvettes.
Said to be NOS in original packaging. p/n 10219090.

Hoping for the best......
