Steering wheel shaking
Hello all!
The CT technician noticed that my steering wheel (cockpit) moved vertically if it was shaken. I pointed out to him that it was due to the possibility of the adjustments made, yet he replied that it was not normal. So, I'm asking you, is there really an adjustment to be made, or a loose screw to be tightened to have a harder indexing of the steering wheel? |

Re: Steering wheel shaking
The LH pivot pin at the steering column is the problem because the aluminium case is rejected a little bit. You can replace the OEM pin with an oversize pin. There is a thread inside (size: M4) to pull it out to install the new one.
I have this oversize pins in stock. If you are interested in please send a PN.

Re: Steering wheel shaking
Absolutely the correct repair procedure!
A good time to remind all what causes this failure. Grabbing the steering wheel to help getting out of the car is the number one cause of these failures. If you need help, grab the A pillar / post with your right hand while jamming your left arm against the rear door jamb area. I cringe when I see so many drivers grab that wheel as it surely will speed up the failure. Marty |
