Default Belt Tensioner

I noticed my serpentine belt tensioner is not steady when the car is at idle. The pully bounces around a bit. Also if the AC is on and the the car is cold and I gun it, the belt squeals. My guess its time for a new or rebuilt model?

I just had mine rebuilt by Marc. It was pretty wobbly and made a loud chirping sound at idle. Now it's very quiet but it still moves around alot more than I would expect. I'm confident mine's good as new now, so I guess that's just what they do. Anyway, if you send yours to Marc, he'll rebuild it for you for about $130. Good luck.
