Default Chance to buy 1990 ZR1

I have the chance to buy a 1990 ZR1 with 84K/KLM in Canada. A/C doesn't work just a switch. Small oil leak from the pan. Possible head gasket leak. These are all diagnosed from GM dealer. I can probable get it for 19k Canadian around 15k USD. Dark red/saddle interior. Body 9/10 interion 8/10. At that price and possible repairs does it sound like a good deal.

Sounds like a good deal if most everything else is OK. I would suggest you not let the dealer do anywork on it other than ordinary C4 stuff. Once you buy it, get active on this forum and get in touch with Marc Haibeck (zr1specialist. com). Good luck with it! --Bob

Based upon your description, sounds like a good deal. Expect with any 32 year old car, things will need to be replaced or repaired over time. That is sometimes the joy of antique/historical vehicle ownership. Joining this group will help you appreciate the car more. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

I really doubt the head gaskets are leaking

Unless the wrong antifreeze was used, there is a known issue with anti-freeze and head gaskets.

Cam covers could be leaking, no valve covers on a LT5.
