1993 Valet Key - Question
I have a 1993 ZR1 that I just sold. Buyer wants me to put it in Valet Mode for shipping. So when I sit in the car with it running, when I turn the key to normal the FULL light stays on and I don't see anything else change on the dash. I'm thinking that this car has a chip in it to bypass valet mode. Reason why I don't know for sure if the car has a chip is I bought this ZR1 from a used car dealer and they didn't know either. I have never used valet mode until now and never really checked with anyone if it did have a chip because the car runs so strong. LOL! Or do I have to be driving the car to put it in either mode?
Would love to hear anyone's thoughts on this. Thank you!

Re: 1993 Valet Key - Question
You would appear to be correct.
When a stock 93 is started, the full power light will not be illuminated. A twist of the key would then toggle full power and illuminate the light. If your light is on continuously, yes, it sounds if that was programmed into the e prom. Just tell the driver at the shipping company that the car has a video and data recorder. Like he would know..................... Marty |
