I have my doubts about that being a new engine. It's all apart, even cam covers removed and has the appearance of having been media blasted. Looks more like a pile of parts to me.

Concur no cam overs, no cams chains, secondary system no plenum etc not to mention Rust throughout rust. I would avoid at all costs. Just a pile of parts.

Definitely not new, but doesn't look that bad from the pics. Price is $3,950 OBO, so not unreasonable. Though one has to wonder why it's in pieces...

I bought one on here last summer complete for 2800.00 shipped from IL to PA. And everything in those pictures appears to have been bead blasted.

There are a couple rough looking engines on ebay right now for 6000+. The one claimed to have like 30k miles but looked rougher than the one I got with like 113k on it.

Current ebay ad: "Engine was removed at 80,000 miles in order to replace with a later 93-95 higher horsepower LT-5. Engine was in running condition when removed and still turns over by hand. Will need to be freshened up before install, but does not require a rebuild,"

Yeah...I'm sure someone replaced the entire engine to gain 30 hp...Needs freshened up but doesn't need a rebuild....spoken like someone who doesn't know a thing about the LT5.

*also, none of the crate engines came in a crate like that and certainly not disassembled. Although I do have a NOS 2 bolt engine block that snuck out at some point. Has all the factory inspection stamps and no VIN.

I just bought a complete LT5 with 36K miles including the ECM and wiring harness for $3K.
I also bought some other stuff including the transmission, Cluster, AC controls, Bose for a bit additional $s.

I will post up photos and more details in a few days after I pick up the engine and additional parts.

One always takes a risk on purchasing LT5s and ZR1s but I have yet to find an LT5 with any serious issues. My FIRST test is Always compression. I have found 215 psi or more within 5 psi on all cylinders on ALL of the 5 LT5s I have (including a 95' Crate Engine with zero miles) and expect the same on the LT5 just bought.

This is a 95' Crate Engine
