Default ZR1 Identity Revealed

Well, I knew I had doors, both bumpers and an entire rear clip from another Zr1 for the rebuild of my 88 EX5023. I just didn't know which one...until now.

Here's the vin on the drivers door decal, dated 09/89. Black car. I guess it's safe to say that this ZR1 can be checked off as destroyed. Would this be an 89 or 90? I would think a 90.

My surviving passenger side rocker panel is also dated 06/27/87 and is different than a later model in the jacking areas. My only survivng body panels will be the pass side rocker and pass side lower front fender panel.

The car will be in primer this weekend.

It's a 1990. If you look on the member's section of the registry website, the relevant details are there for 1990 #0061. It was a black car.

Doesn't seem to be on the list of known wrecked cars, though.

Thanks or the input, Bob.

I do know that the parts were bought from a place in AZ, according to Geoff.

If I remember correctly, the facility scrapped the vehicle by cutting it in half. I'm not sure if GM scrapped it or ???

That would explain why all the attaching parts were in great condition. I got the entire rear clip (cut at the center of the floorpan) and all body panels except the hood and top.

Talking Re: ZR1 Identity Revealed

Rather a late post, but when/if you find totaled ZR-1's let Dave Bright know and he will add them to the list. I just shoot him an email or PM with a link so he can verify the data.
