Got my packet, yes I'm in, you in ?
2 days of runs, trying to figure out GT or SS class Mikes response Your experience will qualify you for a Sportsman License, granting you speeds up to 205 mph, so no problem there. Since you have the harness/bar setup, you can run in either class. If you select GT and break out, we can simply move you up. I have not sent it in yet, maybe no host hotel, was to small for group meetings, I'm thinking about Best Western or Mariah to stay Who else is in? |

So where is everybody? You can only apply so much
wax, or dust so often. Afraid to show off our cars? This is where they shine! All power and aerodynamics. C Ya ![]() |

For future reference, what special equipment is needed to run the mile?
Helmet? Fire suit? Roll bar? Special tires or just good high speed tires? Fire extinguisher? etc? Some items I think would be common sense items such as good tires, helmet, good brakes etc. But are things such as roll bar, fire extinguisher, fire suit etc. required?

Depends what class you are in, and that depends on your car/tires
and your experience. You can look it up in the rules: http://www.mojavemile.com/html/downloads.html Minimum is a safe car and approved helmet. From my experience at this elevation, a stock ZR-1 does 155-160 mph, mine with just short of 400rwhp did 163, Phils with a Haibeck top end/heads (420rwhp?) did 166, and I believe Loco's 368 did 172. Thats all I can remember. Amazing that big $$ for bigger HP improves only a couple of MPH. Why am I at home on my computer? Drove 1 1/2 hrs to Mojave. Tech inspection found cracks in my tread and said no go. I'm going to try switching tires in the AM and returning. Mojave Desert => Hot Hot Hot and tread could separate, so I'm glad they found this. Better safe. |
