Hagerty you can suck it........
For the past 15 years I've had Classic Collector's insurance on my Z and one other car,no issues no claims. I get a notice about 4 months ago that Classic Collectors is going out of business for whatever reason and as of the policy renewal date Hagerty will be taking over my policy. I called Hagerty a few months ago and I was assured the policy wouldn't go up from the current 12 month policy @ $284. I get the quote from Hagerty and the new policy will be $907 for a 12 month policy. Who in their right mind would pay that? I thanked the nice Hagerty representative on the phone for letting me know this far in advance so that I have plenty of time to find a new policy for my 2 cars. Here pretty soon I'll be that guy asking about insurance for my Z and my 75.

My NCM Agency policy is up to 400-something a year. Still cheap, all things considered. Premium of course takes into account the agreed value, garage location, etc.

Why don't you just use your regular insurance agency? As in the one for your other cars and house, etc..

People are naturally focused on their premiums and insurance is usually marketed by highlighting cheaper rates. But, as someone who just went through hurricane Ian, I can tell you the more important measure of an insurance company is whether they pay your claim. I have several neighbors who have no-name insurance companies that haven't paid a dime out...after 2 months.

A few years ago my State Farm agent told me they now will issue agreed upon value policy. As long as you are below $40,000 the agent can send it in with just a few photographs. Over 40,000 you need a third party appraisal. If you do not ask they will not tell you.

+1. I have all 4 of my ?toy cars?, including the ZR-1, insured by State Farm under their agreed value classic car policy. IMHO the stipulations are actually less onerous than Hagerty. I have never had to test the claims process and I hope I never have to. Cost-wise each car runs approx. $400 per year, plus or minus considering the specifics.

I have both my '95 ZR-1 and '96 LT4 insured with State Farm under agreed value. They accepted an over $40k valuation on my '95 with only photographs. Very easy process, and it's half of what the normal policy was.
