Default 2015 C4/ZR-1 Gathering Update

Okay, I hate the fact I have to start this thread, but I am missing the Gathering this year. What is happening? I hope those of you in attendance are having a good time. Let the rest of us know what we are missing.

Joe,

Unfortunately so am I. I'll be watching this thread for updates. However, I do plan on making the Dream Cruise. Also, Haibeck's outing in September.

The Track Day was a lot of fun to most everyone I spoke with. The morning "parade laps" were much more brisk than most of us expected. It was well run and the track is fantastic. I can honestly say it is one of the most interesting and fun tracks I've ever been on (and I've been on a lot).

The afternoon Track Cross (or whatever it was called) also exceeded my expectations. It was a large percentage of the full track (maybe 2 miles of the 3.2 mile full course) with cones at apexes and chicanes to break up the long straights (so we wouldn't be well over 100 mph).

I guess the one thing that could have been better (mentioned by someone else and I agree) was perhaps more track orientation, track map discussion to help people who haven't spent much time on race tracks. Unfortunately we had a few spins and two cars with light hits in tire walls, but both cars can be driven home.

The weather was great for the track day. Friday through Sunday is forecast at 40%-70% rain. That's okay for most as we'll be listening in on great presentations and doing Factory VIP tours.

Oh, and there are a LOT of really impressive cars here - C4 through C7's.

Sorry the pictures aren't better.

Yes, Dominic, I had trouble with it too as I often do with .mp4 video files. If you're still having trouble with it--anyone else also--here's a Dropbox link to the video where I've converted and uploaded it as an .flv file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/xr9c2s6a3bccyy9/Bowling%20Green%20Track%20Day.flv?dl=0 I'm missing BG too this year but it appears to be another great gathering. Enjoy the vid!

I had to miss this year as well. As in, literally, at the last minute. I was going to pick up my trailer and got a phone call that killed the trip.

Thanks for the video, Pres. And thanks for converting it, Joe.

Sounds like it's a blast!

Anyone either flying out of or driving through Louisville after the gathering, and could meet up there Sunday morning or day? I'd enjoy meeting another Z owner(s), and would appreciate an experienced 15 minute visual look over of my 'new' low mile '94 Z. Seems all stock.

Would gladly offer to buy a beverage, a meal, or… if the weather permits… have my son-in-law (who got me into this Z, and who is an experienced flight instructor) take you up in a Citabria (very fun aircraft).

cheers,
G-Man

I'm helping with the ZR-1 group meeting up with NCRS Michigan Chapter for the cruise. I will hope to see you there.
