Default Drag race SHOOTOUT REMINDERS!

Just a reminder!

This is for everyone, but especially you BIG GUNS competing at the drag races at "No LImit Dragway" (aka US 41 Dragway in Morocco, IN) next Sunday the 29th):

(1) When you register at the registration tent to race, be sure to sign up under the ZR-1 Registry "Club". This is important, or we run the risk of your speed record being placed under some other club name. We sure don't want that!!

(2) Be sure to stop by the Registration tent to post your time slip results. Otherwise run the risk of the winning slip not being posted/credited to the Club. (And, this too has happened in the past. And, again, we sure don't want that!!)

I think Dominic was kidding about someone bringing a trailer to carry back the wounded. Well, actually, I think that is worth considering. Unfortunately, I will not be racing this year, but I will be driving my truck, and if y'all want to chip in, I could arrange to pick up a U-Haul trailer and tow it to the race...just in case. (I believe the cost is only about $55/day - divided by however many want to race or contribute.) Any thoughts on this???

Sure wish I was a racin'. But, long as the car is down (looks like for the season) I might as well get working on a couple mods I have in mind. (Just curious to see if I can get above the 450 rwhp mark on a stock bottom and stocked cammed LT5. (I have "only" about 18 hp more to gain to reach the goal.)

P.

Default What Time/Location at Morocco?

I know it's not that large, but there will be a lot of Corvettes in attendance.

If it looks like the rain holds out I will be their, and I will load it in the trailer if I go so their would be one trailer from Chicago if some one needs it, (unless it is me!)

should be their about 8:00 and would run by myself pulling the trailer, don't want to hold any one up.

been about 8 years from the last time I ran it on a strip, got to think of how to do it after all the years!

A couple, Dom. However, I haven't heard much from the nether regions. I think Brett and a couple others from IN are coming, hope to get Todd and his 427 LT5 up here too. And, last time we spoke, Robert Demarco indicated he was going to be there. Haven't heard from Joe Thomas, but sure hope he can make it - the more the merrier! (I wonder if Keith Moudy (sp?) would make the trip. Sure would be grrrrreat to see him! Mebby he could bring some of his harem along! Anybody got his number???)

Well, in the elk (hunting) camps, whomever has "tagged out" or otherwise relighted to the campsite instead of hunting is the designated "camp bitch".

The "CB's" responsibilities are to make sure things at camp run as smoothly as possible, and assist the rest that are still in the hunt. Y'all are "in the hunt" this year; I'm not. So, I guess that makes me the designated, "camp bitch". But, that doan mean none of youz can try to take advantage of the situation...(PETE!). Get frisky an you'll get slapped silly by THIS camp BITCH!!

Are we havin' fun yet???

Paul:

I will not make this event. My son has a soccer tournement on Sunday. The kids are at that age that their schedule has taken over. The Corvettes have been parked for a while. If not soccer, it's volleyball, or music, or school, etc.

But it's a wonderful time!

Hey Joe, hope his team does well. Been there when the kid's schedule runs your life.

kind of fun to read about you guys with kids and can't go. from 90 to 97 I wanted to go to a lot of the ZR-1 weekends and could not due to the kids. I was 39 back than and had the same problem. Now that I am 62 and have time to do some of this stuff, but now I am just a little slower than back than, take a little longer to do stuff!

so hang in their all you young guys! some day you will not know what to do with all the time you will have on the weekends.

I just hope I can pull the lever as fast as I use to and not miss a gear! don't know if my left leg will move as fast as my right arm.

but the neat thing is the 90 is just the same! I get in it and I do feel like I am 39 once more.
