Default Chain Rattle at start up

I have a 92 ZR1 with 60k miles, only during start up the chains rattle for a quick second I assume until presure increases. Should I worry about this, if so what should I do?

regards,
Brett

there has been a design change to the right hand tensioner. If you are concerned with the rattle have that changed however its an expensive part.
my 92#475 white/white had the noise and i updated to the new tensioner.

Its not much of a concern, but thicker oil will help while an updated right side chain tensioner, preoil pump or accumulator will eliminate the problem.

What exactly does "expensive" mean?

If you decide to replace the right side chain tensioner you will need a special tool to set it after it's installed. I have one that I can send you, if you would send it back when you are done with it. ron

Thank you, how big of a job is it? Are there any pics or instructions anywhere I do have a service manual.

Regards,
Brett

I don't consider myself a great mechanic and I didn't have any problems. Just follow the instructions it isn't too bad of a job. You might want to read this. http://www.corvetteforum.com/techtip...D=46&TopicID=2
