modified forced air systen
Here are photos of my modified forced air lid. Still working on painting new air lid.
The opening is larger then the org. forced air system, this should give me a little more top end while racing. Now this new system will not be used on the street because of (rain/ standing water) . It will be used for drag racing only. Testing will start when the rain stops here in sunny FL. Great work. Where did you come up with the design?

Re: modified forced air systen
Early on they made open element lids for the filters (stock/K&N), but there was no way to route air through the front bumper. Then A/O Engineering made
the Forced Air System by drilling a 5 in hole thru the front bumper. Now fresh air it routed thru the front bumper to the Forced Air lid. That worked good, but the 5 in hole was limited to move air to the filter because the opening on the lid is reduced by 25-30% opening. So by using the 5 in hole i made a ramp to the open filter lid. So now the ramp directs all the air into the open filter lid. Which could mean more power at top end. More air in more power out (this might require a little tuning to take advantage of more air). When the hood is closed it rests on the lip of the new filter lid so more incoming air goes into the filter. The photo below shoes the org Forced Air System with my modified filter lid next to it. |
