Great Veterans show in North Chicago
Yesterday I attended a car show at the Capt. James Lovell Veterans Admin Hospital in North Chicago (just north of Lake Bluff) and it was great. My first time; didn't know what it would be like but it was fine and unbeknownst to me has been going on for 12 years. Honored Veterans and not open to the public otherwise (unless you are displaying a car). I would guess a couple hundred cars. Some vets bussed in and pushed around in wheelchairs; many other vets just came over. Naturally I was the only ZR-1 even though there were probably 40 or more Corvettes. Next year Show is on Saturday July 16 12:30 to 2:30 and it would be great if we could get a ZR-1 contingent together for it. I will put it in my calendar with an advanced reminder. Sorry I did not know about it in time to put out the word this year. Here are a couple of pix. Note the sign on the back end of the blue Lotus!--Bob
