Default Learned something new about ZR-1 stock mufflers today

Doing some research for a friend today and discovered an interesting piece of Corvette trivia. There is actually a difference between stock 92-95 ZR-1 mufflers and LT-1 mufflers of the same vintage.
Apparently, 90-91 Z's used what GM called a "reverse flow" muffler as did the L98's of the time.
92-96 LT-1's and LT-4's used what GM called a "tri-low" muffler. 92-95 ZR-1's used a "straight through" muffler for increased flow.
At least that's what detailed reading of my "Vette Spec's" book says.

Trivia lesson over.

I thought LT4's had the least restrictive exhaust setup? Also, does that mean the dual-square tips went away for '92, not '93?

Yes, 92 started with the big rectangular tips.

I thought the same thing. According to my reference "Vette Spec's" by Mike Antonick (also does the Black Book) there is no special reference to LT4's being different as he does with the ZR-1(LT5) in previous years. Having personally seen LT1 and LT4 systems they look the same externally with the exception of the crossover pipe on the LT4. 96' LT1's and LT4's apparently used the same stock muffler.

And yes, 92' was the first year of the single rectangular tip in the LT1's.
