The ZR-1 LT5 engine was designed in size to fit in the standard C4 engine bay. In fact from the doors forward the ZR-1 is a standard C4. The difference is in the rear where a ZR-1 is 2" wider to support bigger tires. I am not sure but don't believe it is the same engine mounts.A LT1 engine can not be or become a LT5 engine. The blocks maybe similar but that is about it. The LT1 has one cam, the LT5 has 4 overhead cams. The LT1 has 8 fuel injectors, the LT5 has 16. The LT1 has 16 valves, the LT5 has 32, so on and so on.

I thought it was 3" wider. Also only thing LT1 and LT-5 shares is centerline demension between the bores. Totally different casting and design. Lt-5 has split block design where the bottom portion of the block bolts up to the crank shaft acting as a girder.
