Coolant Leak

Hey guys before I do more work than what is needed would anyone have any idea where this leak may be coming from? The leak had to have just started I usually go over the car after most drives we took the Z to church yesterday and when I was wiping it down I noticed a white powder looking stuff on the cam cover. Upon closer inspection I found coolant in the space between the head and IH. You cannot see it well in the picture but the top of the coolant pipe had the residue on it that lead me to think it was the line for the TB coolant but I could not find any evidence of this. The residue was down the back side of the coolant pipe housing and on the cam cover.

Thoughts?

Daniel,
From what I see in the picture, the white residue running down the side of the injector housing, It's probably your plenum to injector housing gasket that's leaking. May want to re-torque the plenum bolts.

Run the temp up good and hot then look for a pin hole leak in and around the TB hoses. Mine was similar but on the driver's side where the little elbow comes out of the plenum.

I would also suggest checking the water outlet tube bolts and you may have to replace the water outlet tube gasket. I had a similar leak on the othere side.

Thanks guys all seems like simple fixes. I will start on it soon; just have to get this other project tackled first!

^^ ha!, no need having two broken cars. I would probably try to get a radiator pressure tester and pressurize it without the coolant being scalding hot. Clean up the water you have, pressurize, and find the leak.

I'm going to guess the coolant passage in the i/h & plenum hole or the pin hole leak in that rubber hose.

Naaa not two broken Z's the Steel Blue car is CJ's so I'm not really worried about "fixing" that one

ah ha, well that's the problem right there.
The plenum is missing (and a few other things)
No wonder it's leaking

This is the best route, it will find any leak you have exactly. Good Luck.

I agree this is the best overall approach. However, it you don't just happen to have a pressure tester with a cap that fits our reservoir you can just run the temp up and take a look. Quick and effective.
