Car Auctions in Phoenix and Scottsdale January is for vintage and classic sales in the Valley of the Sun When it comes to buying, selling, and gawking at classic and vintage cars, January is the best time to visit Phoenix, Scottsdale, and the rest of the Valley of the Sun. Some of the biggest car auctions take place this month including events associated with the Scottsdale Collector Car Auction Week. Even if you can't round up hundreds of thousands of dollars (or millions) to actually buy one of these prime classic cars, seeing these special vintage vehicles and watching the action at the auctions is worth the trip for any car lover. The weather in the Phoenix area in January is an extra bonus for those who live in colder climates. You'll bask in the very mild average high of 67 F, with the temperature dropping down to around 45 F at the lowest overnight.
