Default 1991 Red ZR1

Hi everybody, I became an owner of 1991 red ZR1 just few weeks ago. The car was sitting in a garage few years and drove about 700 miles since november. There are some works I've already done but still many things needs to be done to make it "great shape".
What I've done:
-sent radio to Doctor Dons (CD and radio didn't work)
-sealed oil leak from header stud (a lot of smoke from the right side of an engine)
-replaced headlight motor

Need to be done:
-backup light switch
-coolant temp getting high when A/C is working.
-poor braking
-iritating smell inside (maybe caused by smoke from headers stud)
-flooring mats

I got a weird instalation in a glovebox with few batteries, switch and cable going inside dashboard. Previous owner doesn't know what it is. anyone have a clue?

Seems like the owner before last install an aux in to CDM but I can't figure out how to make it work.

Congrats! And welcome.

Note coolant temps can get high if you are low on coolant. Check the level first.

Regarding the aux to CDM issue, check with Dr. Don. I sent him my head unit and he put an aux input on the cassette side that was direct wired into the head unit with a 4 foot long cord. Other side had an on/off switch so I could use the radio/CD as factory or switch it to use the aux input. I have an XM radio attached and can change channels using the supplied remote control. Only issue was the remote could not see through the center console so I put in a RF repeater with one end in the air vent and the other to the radio. Now to change channels I just point the remote at the vent and all is good. Will save the center console hinge as before I had to open the console to change the station. This is what the switch looks like and is located inside my center console so everything looks stock. One of my favorite mods. The radio and speakers with new amps sounds just outstanding....Dr Don is the man!
