Big Changes in my Z life
It is with great sadness I let everyone know that my 1990 Red/tan Vin 103 was sold as a parts car. Still sad about that, but I am also glad to let everyone know that I am now the new owner of 1990 Red/red Vin 1965. It is a nice 16K miles car, but everyone knows with low mile cars there is a lot of fun stuff to fix to make it the car what it needs to be! Here my short list of what I have to do to get this Champ back to fighting status!
1. Oil pressure sending unit (I hope!!!) 2. Engine staining clean up. 3. Air conditioning (not sure if it is charge, clutch, or compressor 4. Abs light and brake light 5. Antenna mast 6. Radio operation. I hope its not the CDM. 7. Cruise control 8. Engine stain 9. Upgraded exhaust and headers 10. Send to Marc for head porting, intake porting, and cams! Here are some pictures of my new Z. Last edited by bmarcum; 07-22-2024 at 10:33 PM. Reason: apple pics |

Re: Big Changes in my Z life
Sorry about your accident but congratulations on your new Z. Since you're in Indiana, I might suggest that you send your recent acquisition to Marc Haibeck for a thorough new purchase going over before getting into porting, etc. I did that when I bought my 1995 in 2012. It had 19,000 miles, was from the second owner and seemed in great shape, but it had a few problems that needed immediate correction, including all fluids, a serp belt hanging on by threads and others. I told Marc to do everything he felt was needed; he even found a hidden alarm that I had him remove. Got it running perfectly at a very reasonable cost. Even had him add 4.10 gears and a short shifter. But then, alas, I eventually sent it back for his 510 package. Alas that is for my bank account, but the end result as everyone knows was more than worth it! Best of luck with yours. --Bob

Re: Big Changes in my Z life
I have done a couple antenna mast replacements but I need to find the diagnostic tree for the radio. I have no sound. I hope it's not the CDM. I haven't pulled the CDM before. Does look fun. Who loves low mile cars.......

Re: Big Changes in my Z life
z51jeff I had my motor/mast removed but could not get to the area to unplug it? I dont know how to remove the roll up screen in the rear as at 75 I could not get into the back of the car to see how its connected. I had removed the rear deck surround and speaker but its behind that area and I found no way to access it? I removed the rear tail lights and that gave me access to remove the rubber grommet that holds the line in but not enough wire to pull it out? Help! Tkx jim f

Re: Big Changes in my Z life
I did the CDM on my 90, it was not as bad as I expected based on what I read.
