Wow, ZRs get special class. Finally maybe we get some recognition from the
Corvette community.

Which is why I used ZRs and not ZR-1s. All part of the brotherhood of the ultimate Corvette.

Re: For the "INDY" area guys...
I suppose I could have posted in this last month when it happened, but better late than never right?
BIG show, lot of cars. The C4 ZR-1's were Definitely represented. There were supposed to be three. My 90, a 91 in Turquoise and one other that I can't recall or find in my email. There was also a 2011 ZR1 there. Day of, it rained like something out of the bible and my 90 and the 2011 were the only ones that showed up. Quite a turnout something like over a hundred cars even though it was pouring for a chunk of the morning. When the rain let up to a drizzle they started the voting. Overall the show was good, lot of cars lot of friendly faces ect good grilled lunch. The voting was a disaster though IMO because the ballots were too granulated. (almost all yeasr were separated into Early coupe, Early convertible, Late coupe, Late convertible). Then anything that was special got its own category like the ZR-1s, the Grand Sports or Pace Cars. None of the cars were parked together and the special cars were NOT included in the regular car classes. This meant walking back and forth through the cars going category by category looking for the specific cars you could vote for in any category. The problem here was even more evident when during the awards a few jokes were made because cars had won things that weren't even there. Example being that if pre registered CZ1 and CZ3 were there, but CZ2 did not show up people would just mark CZ2 down as the 2nd or 3rd place under the assumption that they just couldn't' find it. I digress, overall the show is a lot of fun. Lot of cool cars, including an Original owner 1966 Blue/White coupe that is just incredible and a couple of Fuelie C1s showed up even in the rain. I took some photos, but for the life of me I can't seem to find them. Probably still on the point and shoot in the basement, I'll try to dig them up this weekend if anybody is interested.

Agree .
Recently watched an old National Geographic History about the Corvette from 1953 to the C5 . Not one mention of the ZR-1 or the LT5 ... Very disappointing . More and more this car seems like the Avro Arrow story to me( Sorry , Canadian thing lol ) tho the car is here and is real and not forgotten by ourselves and this awesome registry . ;( |

Blacksheepz the other C4 ZR1 was my Red 1990 #0106. I really wanted to be there but although not a trailer or garage queen I don't get mine out in the rain. Im from east of Indy maybe next year...PM me if you ever hear of anything else in our area.

Yea I don't like taking mine out in the rain, but she's seen much worse than some rain and we wanted to go so we risked it. Totally understand keeping her warm and dry though. How far east of Indy? We live in Irvington.
