Default WTB: OE Piston Rings

I need new OE rings to fill an order for an international customer.

8, #1 top compression
8, #2 middle

I have 8, #3 OE Oil Control rings, so don't really need these but will include in purchase if desired.

Jerrys Gaskets is in the process of manufacturing new piston rings for OE pistons with stock liners, but its going to be months before I will have inventory.

Let me know what you have & your price.

Thank you,
Jerry

Jerry, did you check with Marc to see if he has a set you could use until new ones come in? --Bob

Jerry,

I recall having a recent conversation w Marc where he said he had bought one of the Kurt White sets and still had it. Any chance u?ve looked into pustons for stock motor that would use LS type ring sets?

Kurt White Rings: I evaluated the aftermarket rings that Kurt White was/is selling & determined that they didn't meet specifications.

Aftermarket, replacement pistons. Due to the incredible wear capability and low friction coefficient of the nikasil liners and the advent of synthetic oils, the pistons don't incur very much wear and are generally reusable. Likewise for the cylinder liners. That leaves rings as the principal replacement component.

Rings are much less expensive than new pistons. I probably have a few hundred serviceable, used pistons, rods & liners, plus additional inventory of new. Its very seldom that I get a call for either and then usually due to physical damage as opposed to wear.

The 368 Kit that we developed was born after it was no longer possible to assemble a complete, new Cylinder Overhaul Kit, due initially to rings and eventually pistons & liners.

I?ll bet Marc would be interested in knowing about the White ring set and your findings. Or perhaps u may have already mentioned it to him.
