Default Secondary vacuum pump question

Being unsure if my secondaries work I followed some tips by Mark. And I recognized, that my secondary vacuum pump does NOT run when I turn the ignition on. I measure around 12v at the plug. So power supply is there.

Do these pumps fail? And if so, what are the weak spots?

Okay, good point. I will remove the pump and test the vacuum system!

Again, thanks for the comment - it made me get up at 6:30 a.m. today and check my pump! In short: it works!
I just pulled the pump and carefully pried it open with a plastic edge. There was no visual damage or sign of overheating. Resistance measurement read around 160 ohm which is a bit high for that motor. So, I winded it manually for a few turns. Car is a low miler, so maybe the motor has some minor corrosion. Resistance dropped to 60 ohm immediately, which is a good sign. Plugged in on and it started dancing!
With the vacuum hose attached it runs for about 3 seconds the first time and then cycles every 12 seconds. Which is not a bad value, right? During the cycles it pumps for way less than a second, probably less than a half.
That's what I call a good start into the day: not having to replace the pump saves me beer money!

Thanks, Jeff, good to know. Actually the pumps runs great since I "restarted" it. Curious to see for how long...
