Clutch Kit Recommendations--the full Monty please
My transmission in my 91 with 85k has decided to pout like a millennial asked to work over time. The trans made a clicking/popping metallic sound in first gear under load. We put the car up on a lift and put it in gear; it was clearly a "center of the transmission" noise.
I got some advice (thanks Lee and Steve) on things to check. The fork and ball stud are good. The trans is out and at a reputable local shop for tear down, inspection and either rebuild or replace. Not sure what we will find. As long as the transmission is out, I'm going to replace the clutch and other appropriate parts as with 85k, it probably needs it. Any recommendations on the proper "clutch kit" with all of the "correct" parts and things (upgrades?) to replace? I'm a spirited driver, don't race, but do the occasional burn out. The engine is pretty stock with SW headers and a great (great) tune by Steve Schroeder. Thanks for the advice!

Here's what Mr. Haibeck has to say on the subject... always a good place to start.
