Default 90’ Clutch Hydraulic Line

Is the 90’ clutch line unique to that year or can the 91’ and up line be used?

I am not positive. But I think they are the same. While I know of many unique MY 90isms. I have never heard that these are different. I'm sure WV knows for sure

To my knowledge they are the same as non-ZR-1 applications. When you can find them (Corvette Mods, Ecklers and such currently sell reproductions) they are sold as 89-90 and 91-96. Steel tube bends look slightly different and the later one uses steel braided hose.

Hans,

I just replaced the m/c and slave this spring = fresh in my memory!

The hydraulic line for the 90 is solid bent steel sections on either end, separated with a rubber middle section. However, the 91+ line is rubber with a stainless braid.

The 90 slave has the bleeder on the top of the slave, whereas the 91-95 is on the bottom.

I recommend going with the 91+ slave AND the 91+ hydraulic line for ease of installation.

Per Marc Haibeck's recommendation, I bought my m/c and slave from Rock Auto (cast iron as opposed to tube steel), and the hydraulic line from Corvette Central.

I wrote an article detailing this in the last issue of HOTB, FYI. After it was published, I heard from someone with a later model (a '94 ZR-1) who pointed out that his car had a spring steel retainer clip on his m/c actuator rod, instead of a "C" (or "E"?) clip I mentioned in the article. (I'd be curious to know whether yours is a "C" clip or the spring steel type. (the spring steel I've seen on other stuff, and quite frankly would be preferable to the "C" clip, IMO.)

Cheers!

Yes, saw your fantastic article in HOTB last month. Not sure what I’m going to do just yet. I’ll let you know what I find.
Best

Hans,

Very handy tool (Mytivac reservoir). And, a set of Russell 639630 Speed Bleeders placed in your calipers used in conjunction with that Mytivac reservoir and a vacuum bleeder pump and clear plastic tubing makes brake bleeding a simple, one-person job done very efficiently!

FWIW!

P.

Good point, I already have the Mytivac vacuum and pressure bleeder and a Mytivac Vacuum oil change tool. I suppose the vacuum bleeder would work on the clutch system as well.
