Default Looking at adding to the fleet....

Resisting buying a 2014 5.0 Mustang GT, but I like the DOHC smallblock making 415HP..

....Buyavette in Atlanta has a 2000 FRC Black/Black with 84K miles coming in, asking $16.9K.....fully optioned....LS1, no significent speed equip other than catbacks....

I absolutely love the FRC's, and this one would get driven, unlike my ZR, which mostly sits...

Anyone have any good/bads about the 2000 FRC's....high mileage issues?

thanks in advance..

Hi Ryan,

I wound up looking at a couple C5s when my wife was considering one. I don't have the research but I remember that a few years had engine issues but expect in this case high miles are your friend. The thing I noticed looking at a couple were oil pan and transaxle leaks. At least the dipstick gives you a clue if you check it, but I don't think the transaxle gets nearly as much love - one had thrown so much oil that it had to have spent a lot of time dry.

And as the owner of a couple of 4.6l 4valve motors that 5.0 calls to me too - but my resistance is financial!

Best,
- Jeff
