#003, #074, Active + at Milford Proving Grounds in 2008
I found these pictures today. This is more than likely the last official use of 89 #0074. These were taken August 13, 2008 at Milford Proving Grounds for media test drives of the "New" ZR1.
The following cars were displayed: 1989 #003 Media Pilot 1989 #074 Media ZR-1 that was painted purple by Cal Street Rods 1989 DR-1, Narrow boddied convertible with a BG installed LT5 1990 Active Suspension ZR-1 (Either EX5881 or EX5886) 1992 ZR-1 "First Built" 1G1YZ23J7N5800001 Less then 6 short months later 4 of the 5 Zs were sold at the 2009 Barret Jackson Scottsdale auction. Their careers over and on to private hands.

Its great to have you back in the effort again. Talked to Geoff for awhile Tuesday and Wed. Learned the following. All the Phase 1 and 2 engines were cast and built in England and the Phase 2 motors were about 200k each. Youch.

Re: #003, #074, Active + at Milford Proving Grounds in 2008
Thanks Tyler. I wish I could be at BG this week, but I just couldn't squeeze it in this year.
I was reading the "Lotus Project Report, LT5 Engine" and by 1/88 they had only recieved one LT5 from MM. So Geoff is correct. I think that was #070 so any LT5 above #070 was probably a MM LT5. I know I read that in HOTB too. I will have to open that up and revist it for clarification. On a side note, as I am always learning, i just realized #074 was first sent to GM Service Development Center. It showed up there on 4/14/89 4 days after they cancelled the 89MY so they no longer needed it to develop the manuals and service techniques. Off to the PR pool it went. Eric

So we leave the Early ZR-1s in Brett's capable hands. I hope 2014 (89's will be 25 years old) I will get back there.

Wasn't the DR-1 a wide body car?

Re: #003, #074, Active + at Milford Proving Grounds in 2008
Let me clarify my last answer. It was "born" a narrow body and was converted to wide by ASC. Thats what I was saying. Eric

There were at least two narrow bodied DR-1 convertibles. One was never converted to a widebody.
