Default Luk Clutch 04-113

So I ordered a replacement clutch for my 90 ZR1 off of amazon. It was matched to Luk P/N 04-113. It has been ripped apart by the mechanic and now it looks like the pressure plate bolts are just barely too short to work. A little more research and I found a completely different clutch model number from Luk 04-114 as being listed as the correct clutch for the car. However this P/N is only listed on Carolina clutch, not on amazon or even the luk-usa.com website. I feel like I am taking crazy pills. Is there any way I can make the clutch I have purchased work or do I need to return everything and start over?

Call Carolina Clutch directly. They have the correct one. The one you have is approx. .300 less thick than the correct zr1 pressure plate. From my research the disc and throwout bearing are the same it is just a different pressure plate. The folks at Carolina Clutch were very helpful and did everything possible to help when I dealt with them.

The 04-113 is for L98 lt1 application. 04-114 is the correct replacement for your 1990.
Carolina Clutch is exellent to deal with!

Thanks for the input guys. I found a replacement clutch kit Luk 04-114 on ebay for $225 w/free shipping. I had wanted to buy from Carolina clutch but with shipping charges it would have been an extra $75. It's at the shop right now and hopefully I will get it back intact and ready to go soon.

please get ahold of bill boudreau before you have them install the clutch. he will tell you to use your old throwout bearing and clutch plate . as the ones they are selling now are Chinese replicas and will fail very soon . here is his ph . 602 319 6575. I only used the clutch plate on the one I bought at bills recommendation .jmho.

Careful that's likely an LT-1 clutch made in China

David,

I think manwiththreearms got a good one. When he was looking for a clutch kit I ran a search and came up with what he bought. He beat me to it!
It looked authentic in an old beat up package leading one to believe an original kit.

Manwiththreearms - just make sure you have OEM throw out bearing. Real one has a green dot on the face.
