The Lift has Landed>>>
First a HUGE thanks to Phil and Rich... what troopers... besides these lift parts being heavy (had to use an engine hoist to move the ramps and hydraulic jack that slides between the ramps) we also had the wonderful pleasure of good old Virginia humidity .
Took us a solid 4 1/2 hrs (OK.. you young turks go do it in half of the time...right?) to install, but all works and went as planned. A few pics of the lift>> I can get about 5' clearance under the Z at maximum height which has to be done with the garage door closed...could get another couple inches if I move the fluorescent light fixture I opted for the option hydraulic jack that slides between the ramps...already tried it out on the Z and works great...strongly recommend getting this type of jack. I also recommend getting aluminum ramps (were optional with my lift) since the steel ones are heavy...Ellen is having mercy on me by getting me the aluminum ones for my birthday next month... Lastly, if you have ceiling or garage door height limits might want to consider this...I have begun to mark on the column where the hydraulic control unit is locate for the max height for the lift ramps...bottom blue tape is for the Z with the garage door open and the top blue tape is max height with garage door closed. I will pull my C6 onto the lift and go thru the same exercise. (I have heard that a couple of our ZR buddies had forgotten about height issues with their lifts and...well not a good idea). All is good and thanks to Phil and Rich for sweating it out with me.

Very very nice. I'm probably going to go with a two post myself. They seem to be going for about $1,300. But the four post ones are in the 3K to 4K range. I can do $1,300. I love the coated garage floor.

Michael,
Glad to of helped out, it was a pleasure to work with Rich and you and thanks to Ellen for fetching us lunch. Just let me know when you tire of the jack. You wouldn't want it laying around cluttering up the place. I could probably find some space to store it on my lift. |

Looks great Michael . You happy with it? Wished you would have said something, or maybe I should have , about aluminum ramps. Mandatory IMO. When I bought both my lifts, I only needed one set of ramps, so the guy took my two (2) steel sets & swaped me straight accross for one (1) aluminum set. I though that was plenty fair .

Re: The Lift has Landed>>>
Side note: Went & weighed one (1) ramp, FYI Michael. 16.2LBS., for one (1) aluminum ramp .

Re: The Lift has Landed>>>
I really wanted to get a lift but I think a 2 post is the best way to go, but I looked at a 4 post and my garage is to low for a 4 post, but its too low for a 2 post as well.
But Im wondering who manufatured yours?
