Nitto 555R
are they worth getting if I only go to the track maybe once a year. Also I am planning a trip from Chicago to Gulf Shores this summer are they ok for that trip?

I know there is one person that for whatever reason has had issues with them, but not me. (Nitto 555 front and 555r rear). I've been extremely happy with their performance, both on the drag strip and 1/2 mile runs, and on road courses/cruises. In fact, speaking of cruises, I had the unexpected experience of a (estimated) 1G turn with slight negative camber and the Z cornered like it was on rails!! For what it's worth...I like um!

Re: Nitto 555R
Jep, bought 555R for the front as well as the back. He stated "the tires will be hard and junk before they will need to be replaced". Makes sense to me.
The LPE had a 800 mile road trip two years ago from Atlanta to Frankenmuth, MI on December 9th missed a blizzard going through Cincinnati by two hours. If you become a member I can set you up with a tire account that will save you about $90.00 Last set was $570.00 for all four tires delivered.

Re: Nitto 555R
OK......do you have an account for members that includes these tires?
Yes and No, The Account is under my name not the ZR-1 Net Registry. If a member wants tires I set them up with thier own account. While I am no longer a director I will always support the members who are keeping the "King" alive. And....does it make a difference where the tires are delivered? No they will deliver the tires direct. AZ,OH and TX pay tax. Re: Nitto 555R
Guys thanks for the all the responses, I have heard that the 555 are not the best for handling but the NT05 would be the way to go. anyone out there have the NT05 how long do they last? how are they if you get caught in the rain?
