Default Heart of the Beast

Congratulations and thank you to Mark H, Jim V and all who contributed to another outstanding edition of the Heart of the Beast. It was fun to relive the 2017 Gathering in particular, and maintenance and refurbishment tips were outstanding as always. My only question is for Pres Horner; what shutter speed did you have to capture Mike (Tripler) on the kart track ?

Some of the go-cart shots may have been on my camera. I don't know who is who, but a sample action shot in "sports" mode produced this info:

I cut my teeth on a Nikon FM2 (film camera), and cherish what I learned from using it. Now using the Nikon D610 with capabilities beyond what I've been yet able to appreciate. SOB has predictive focus, vibration reduction, auto ISO, shutter speed, saturation, multiple (and automatic) metering...

My shots were all in FULL-AUTO/SPORTS mode. Truly an amazing machine!

It was a high-speed camera, but not fast enough! Reminds me of trying to capture a photo of the ZR-1!
