Default Apology

I know this has been long over-due but I just want to apologize with what happened with the former LT5 Registry to all of you that were former members. The responsibility is all mine and I just want to say I'm very sorry for letting everyone down. It has haunted me all these years and one way or another,I really want a chance to make amends, financially or otherwise. The ZR-1 brotherhood is a special group of people and all I ask is that opportunity to rejoin its membership. Some of you will never forgive and that's ok,I understand. Losing the friendship of so many has been a constant reminder but if possible, all I ask for is a fresh start. I know it's a lot to ask.
Sincerely,
Clint Hooper

People make mistakes in life, you've apologized for what ever you were responsible for. So in my eyes no harm no foul.

I was not involved during the time the registry dissolved, I'm new to this forum as of October 2013 when I purchased my ZR-1. While new to this Corvette, their in my blood my dad, brother, and myself own several corvettes each. We also own other numerous vehicles 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's.....you get the picture. I'm not new to automobiles.

Have yet you become a member not because of the money, but specifically due to the bickering I see going on. From 10k feet there seems to be a few that seem to sucker punch every chance they get. if this nonsense gets better I would be glad to contribute monetarily more than the charged amount of membership.

While not being totally fair, I must say that I have spoken on the phone, email, and social networking with several of the members here. These individuals have been extremely forthcoming with knowledge and help if needed.

One thing is for sure, there is lots of knowledge associated with the registry that needs to be kept strong and tightly bound, due to the lack of knowledge by myself and other new comers. I wish the best to everyone, and always willing to offer help in any way necessary to "long live the Corvette for generations to come."

I've been a member since 1997 (of all the various incantations of the club) but frankly don't remember all of what happened. Forgetting is one of the perks of age. Having said that, I'm pretty sure I forgave long ago.

Clint,

The apology is appreciated, and frankly, necessary. I'm a firm believer in fresh starts and forgiveness. It's just the way I'm wired I guess. Although I would like to know the exact circumstances surrounding what happened some 10 years ago, I can also understand how this might be embarrassing and difficult to discuss.

To quote the great Curly Joe: "Hey Moe, everyone makes mistakes....that's why they put them little erasers on the ends of pencils!"

Some may not forgive your actions, but I'm not one. It takes a big man to admit his mistakes and ask forgiveness. Since I'm no longer a member of this club, I can't welcome you to the club - but I can offer you a welcome back to the brotherhood.

Clint,
I have not been a very active member in the registry when it comes to its administration and didn't know of all of the details of which you speak. I simply enjoy the registry membership and have fun with my car. In my book anyone who publicly acknowledges his errors deserves another chance. The registry has seen some turbulant times recently and needs all the resources it can get. Welcome back to the brotherhood .

Clint,

For the last 35 years I've had Corvettes, the last 12 I have always been impressed with those associated with the ZR-1 the most. As we travel through life we make choices some good some not so good ether way you can not go back and change them. Forgiving the bad is the hard part for some, I believe in forgive and forget life is to short.

Welcome back if I can help ya just ask, same goes for anyone in our group.

No apology needed for me because I was not a member. I do respect you coming on here and doing so though, takes a good man to try and make thing right. I have made many friends in this club and do my best to keep them. Good Luck in moving forward

I am a forgiving person by nature. I would like full disclosure on what happened to the money that so many gave you, including myself. Especially now that you are buying a ZR-1 that most of the LT5 Registry members you took money from can't afford.

I think that's a reasonable request.

I also think it would be reasonable if the funds collected from LT5Registry members were openly accounted for and then donated to the ZR-1 Net Registry, a not for profit 501 3C corporation.

That would be a more meaningful atonement than an "Apology." No one would profit from the past circumstance or benefit from the donation, plus the funds would be used in the same context for which they were paid originally, the betterment of the ZR-1 community.

There is more to the story, but I see no need to drag it all out here.

A bit of advice, comments such as the following, are not taken well by those who were members of the LT5 Registry back then.

Quote:
Prefer 18x10 & 18x12 sizing, must be ZR-1 offsets, mint or like-new condition preferred, will pay top dollar for right wheels
