The things we do for these cars
I've only got a one car garage and I keep my Z in the garage and a bike. I need to work on a few projects and figured it would be easier to just put the car in storage for awhike. I looked around and found a 10/18 spot secure indoor place so it's a done deal. I wanted to get my bike in there also so in the process of pulling the car into the spot, hit the wall and scratched the rear molding. Got kinda pi$$ed,I'll fix it,this is one of the projects on the list😁 So I get some paint mixed and I'm in the process of fixing my screwup. To get the right side quarter panel piece the inner wheel well panel needs to come out. For the right rear bumper the license plate, right backup light and both right side taillights need to come out. All this just to paint these 2 pieces of trim.

I feel for you Jeff. I certainly have been in similar situation.
The other side of coin is that you own a car that means soooo much to you. Imagine having to own and drive cars that dosen't bother you a bit even when someone creases a fender. To me, that's hell. |

Re: The things we do for these cars
Done,at least fixing my screwup. Trying to paint anything is a hassle with a one car garage. I can't move this car for the time being but I'll do it if I can't find a painter that does quality work. Just materials alone to fix this scratch was about $200😳. I used to know a few painters that did quality work but they're either dead -they make respirators for a reason- or have moved. If you look close you can see the space I had to work in,on the left side towards the back. [IMG][/IMG]

I should have clarified,I can't park the VW outside at the moment. I can paint small parts if in a jam and need it done.
